What is there to do on the Norfolk Broads this Valentine's Day?
Star gazing on the Norfolk Broads
Snuggle under a blanket & gaze up to some of the clearest skies in Britain. Adventuring Light has a sliding canopy which offers the chance to star gaze in the open air from the comfort of the saloon, check out The National Trusts guide to star gazing
If cosying up inside, there is warm-air heating and a TV/DVD player with USB connection to watch a romantic film or catch on the latest box set. The rear cabin has a comfortable double bed and there is a separate family bathroom with shower and toilet.
Eating out on the Norfolk Broads
The broads are home to a number of waterside pubs and restaurants which can’t fail to deliver a romantic setting for a meal with a loved one. Many places also offer free mooring when you dine with them, we can recommend;
The Bridge Inn at Acle offers roaring fires & free moorings when you dine there
The Swan Inn at Horning with rural charm and rustic character
Coldham Hall at Surlingham all locally sourced food & a large mooring area
Kings Head at Coltishall, fine dining & free moorings
Bure River Cottage at Horning, seafood restaurant & close by public moorings
Romantic on-board Dining
If you like to cook for yourselves, the fully equipped galley will provide everything you might need to rustle up a romantic meal for two. On page 11 of our cruiser brochure we have a fabulous recipe for a chicken and apricot tagine.
If you’d rather not cook, how about getting takeaway, in the skipper manual on board the hire boat, you will find details of local takeaways across a variety of popular locations.
Fancy an afternoon Tea with crustless sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and unlimited Yorkshire tea and coffee? Perhaps head to Wroxham, moor up at the public moorings & visit The River Kitchen, and indulge yourselves in treats and sweets or The Old Mill Restaurant, Bar and Café who are one of our privilege partners offering 10% off food orders over £5.
We have teamed up with many local businesses and you will receive as part of your break, a privilege card which entitles you to savings at local pubs, restaurants and attractions.
If you’re dining at the Swan Inn or Bure River Cottage at Horning, there is a beautiful circular walk there taking in lovely countryside but also the parish church and the main street with quaint village shops and a few public houses worthy of a visit!
There are many circular walks detailed on the Herbert Woods website to be explored.
