Job Title: Marketing Assistant
Location: Herbert Woods, Potter Heigham, Norfolk
Salary: £27,000
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Office-Based)
Herbert Woods is one of the leading holiday boating companies on the Norfolk Broads, with a heritage dating back nearly 100 years. Based in Potter Heigham, we provide unforgettable holiday adventures and day experiences to thousands of visitors each year.
The Role:
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to market a unique tourism experience on the Norfolk Broads, creating engaging content that inspires people to discover boating adventures and days out on the water.
As a Marketing Assistant, you will play a key role in our marketing strategies. Your creativity and initiative will help us create engaging content and execute successful promotional activities.
This role is fully office-based in Potter Heigham and requires daily attendance at our office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Produce engaging content for our website, social media, and email newsletters.
- Assist with photography, video and promotional materials.
- Monitor marketing performance across digital channels and assist with producing performance reports and campaign insights.
- Assist with events, partnerships and promotional activities.
- Support and implement SEO strategies to improve search visibility.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: A qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in marketing, advertising, or a similar role is preferred.
- Skills: Strong understanding of marketing principles, excellent written and verbal communication, proficiency in marketing software (e.g. CRM tools, social media managers), and knowledge of social media and web analytics.
- Creativity: A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and working with Apple Mac computers.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Join our team maintaining and servicing our fleet of holiday cruisers and day hire boats. This hands-on role involves mechanical repairs on diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulic drives, pressurised water systems, and onboard heating systems.
This is a varied and rewarding position that includes being part of our 24/7 on-call service rota. You’ll also play a key part in welcoming our customers by delivering cruiser handovers, tutorials, and trial runs to ensure a smooth start to their holiday.
We’re looking for a candidate with:
– Previous marine engineering experience
– Gas Safe certification
– A full UK driving licenceAs a key customer-facing member of our team, you’ll be friendly, approachable, and reliable, committed to delivering first-class service to holidaymakers and boat users alike.
Role Details:
– Full-time position, including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional out-of-hours work
– Competitive salary, based on experience with guaranteed overtime and on-call additional earnings.
– £250 enhanced on-call payment.
