Throughout our 95-year history Herbert Woods has always been a successful and innovative Broads business. Our group operates one of the largest hire fleets on the broads, builds new Broads cruisers, owns and lets holiday properties, and has successful estate agency and boat sales businesses.

We are now looking for reliable, hardworking, enthusiastic members of staff to join our busy team in a variety of roles.

  • Working within the main Reception/Booking Office as part of a small friendly team you will be responsible for greeting customers both in person and on the telephone, assisting with general enquires and cottage/boat holiday bookings.

    The ideal candidate should be computer literate with strong administration skills and be highly organised with the ability to work under pressure, must be able to multi-task and can work alone or as part of a team.

    We are a long established boatyard looking for someone who is enthusiastic and happy to work in a busy environment.

    Hours will be between 8am and 5pm on a rota basis to include some weekends and bank holidays.

    Flexibility to cover for staff holidays/sick leave is essential.

    As a holiday company we are open 7 days a week and you will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as required.

  • Hiring now for 2024!

    We require part-time seasonal staff to join our friendly & diligent housekeeping team looking after our hire boats and cottages.

    16.5 hours per week, 3 days (Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays) 9am to 3pm. Other working hours will be considered for the right applicant. Contract until 31st October 2024.

    Potential opportunity to lead onto a permanent position.

    Although experience would be an advantage, we will provide training. Rate of Pay is £10.50 per hour for all ages, due to increase in April + monthly treats. Free on-site parking and some uniform will be supplied.

  • Hiring now for 2024!

    Your role will involve servicing and maintaining our hire fleet holiday cruisers and day hire boats.  Undertaking mechanical repairs on diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulic drives, pressure water and heating systems.

    In this varied and engaging position, you will be on-call as part of our 24/7 service line and will provide cruiser tutorials and trial runs for the handover of holiday cruisers to our customers.

    Previous experience as a Marine Engineer required. The ideal candidate will have previous marine engineering experience, Gas Safe Certification and a full UK driving licence.
    In a key customer facing role for our organisation you will also be friendly and helpful and reliable with the aim of providing a first-class service to our customers and holiday makers.

    Roles are offered on a full-time basis and will require weekend, bank holiday and out-of-hours working.

    We are looking for Full Time Boat Builders with previous experience.

    You will be involved in repairing and renovating interiors and exteriors of our hire fleet.

    Previous experience as a boatbuilder or marine engineer required.

    Weekend work required during the busy season.

    A varied role involving general boatyard maintenance, exterior cleaning, refuelling, pump outs, watering up and preparation of our hire cruisers for our holiday makers.

    During our winter maintenance period, you will also be responsible for cleaning and assisting in the maintenance of cruisers prior to the beginning of the holiday season.

    The role is highly customer focused and involves the boat handover process of instructing customers in the safe use of their cruisers and accompanying them on a trial run at the start of their holiday.

    Previous boatyard operative experience required. You should have great customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively, good attention to detail and the ability to prepare boats to a high standard in a timely way.

    Roles are offered on a full-time or part-time basis throughout the week.
