Things to do in Norfolk in February Half Term

Looking for a day out in Norfolk this February Half term with fun for the family, friends and even pets?

Avoid the crowds this half term and do something a little different!

Get out and up close to nature, take a day and explore the Norfolk Broads at your leisure, aboard a Herbert Woods picnic boat. Hiring a picnic boat on the Norfolk Broads this time of year (whilst that sounds like an unusual choice), you’ll get up close to wildlife and birds that have migrated here for the winter months and the Broads will be quieter with lots of places to moor up at if you want to stop off somewhere.

Hire a Herbert Woods Picnic Boat

Herbert Woods picnic boats are something quite special and with 5 brand new picnic boats being added to the fleet shortly, there’s no shortage! Made from fibre glass, with a twin sliding top canopies (there’s no canvass coverings to be found here), there’s on board heating and with full views out front and back, no-one will miss a thing. Got a dog? – bring them along too! They seat a maximum of 10 people and include a single gas hob, fridge, sink and toilet and are equipped with mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery, kettle, tin opener, corkscrew, chopping board and kitchen knife.You don’t need any experience, the engine is quiet, it’s easy to steer & comes with a forward decking area to sit out on if you’re blessed with a sunny day.

You’ll be given a privilege card with exclusive offers and discounts at local pubs, restaurants and attractions.
For the children, every child will be given a Broads Explorer Log Book to spot wildlife, learn fun facts, a Broad’s word search, a captain’s log to log where you started and what you saw along the way, colour in a cruiser and learn to tie knots like a real sailor! At the end of the trip, hand into reception and they’ll be given a Broads Explore Gift Certificate and their completed log book back.

Herbert Woods boat hire is perfectly located on the River Thurne in the village of Potter Heigham with easy access to many popular spots.

Prior to departing everyone on board will be provided with a tutorial and safety briefing by one of the Herbert Woods team, life jackets for all passengers, a full tank of fuel and a map of the Norfolk Broads.

There are many different places to visit;

Wroxham is a popular place to visit, with shops, plenty of places to eat & not forgetting a visit to Wroxham Miniature World.
