Top 10 Easter Events on and Around the Broads

Come rain or shine, there’s so much to do around the Broads this Easter! Spring has officially arrived, and Easter is just around the corner.

We’ve selected some of the best events around the Norfolk Broads happening this Easter. From classic Easter egg hunts & getting up close with nature, become a crime scene investigator at Norwich Castle or find the fun of Great Yarmouth as it springs into life with fireworks, pirate shows and take in the thrills and spills of the visiting Easter Fair.

What’s Easter without an Easter Egg Hunt? You’ll find several Easter Egg Hunts taking place around the Norfolk Broads this year.

Easter Egg Hunts

Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden at South Walsham
They are running a Scavenger Hunt from 6th April to 22nd April and their popular Easter Egg Hunt returns on Good Friday

Nelson’s Journey – Easter Egg Hunt 2019 – Matlaske
On Sunday 14th April, held between 11am and 3pm at Barningham Hall, you’ll find an Easter egg hunt AND an Easter Bonnet competition, so take along your homemade bonnets for judging!  All funds raised from the event supports Nelson’s Journey’s work with Norfolk’s bereaved children and young people.

 

Back to Nature at Easter

Easter Family Fun Day!
Come and join in the Easter fun with the return of our Easter egg hunt around the reserve. There will be minibeasting, free pond dipping, face painting, children’s crafts, activities and a tombola. Held on Sunday 17th April from 11am-3pm

 

History and Heritage

Norwich Castle
Norwich Castle, become a Castle crime scene investigator and explore crime and punishment from medieval to modern times. Follow our Crime Trail, sit in judgement with Judge Childers, detour along the prisoners’ secret tunnel, and visit the dungeons (additional charge applies).

Great Yarmouth’s annual Easter fair
This annual event returns for four days from 25th-28th April.
Rides and stalls will be set up on the Market Place, Fullers Hill Car Park and on Brewery Plain Car Park in the town centre.
Thursday 4pm-11pm, Friday & Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 12-6pm

Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach – Free firework display
Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Beach, an iconic amusement attraction in Great Yarmouth is situated at the south end of Great Yarmouth’s famous Golden Mile.
There’s a free firework display this Easter on Wednesday 17th April.

 

Circus Circus

Great Yarmouth Hippodrome
Pirates Live Begins 6th April until 28th April with all the action taking place in a movie style set with a 40ft galleon made by 3d creations who made parts of the set for Pirates of the Caribbean. An entertaining production brings together a motley crew of pirates, fire eaters, acrobats, aerialists and comedy.
